Head to the Matakana Village Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm to pick up artisan cheeses, Italian meats, organic chocolate, homemade chutneys, craft beer and other gourmet goodies. On Sundays from 8am to 1pm, The Clevedon Village Farmers Market serves up fresh produce, pastries and baking, and the popular Coatesville Market open Sundays from 10am to 2pm, has around 100 stalls selling food, art, jewellery, homewares and clothing.

City markets

If you’re staying in the central city, try the lively Britomart Saturday Market open every Saturday on Takutai Square from 8am to 2pm. You’ll find everything from fresh produce and flowers to coffee, vegan foods, pastries, sweet buns, crepes, juices, food trucks and savoury snacks, with more stallholders being added every month. Head to Parnell Farmers's Market on Saturdays from 8am to noon to stock up on fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, flowers and more. While in Parnell, check out Buono, a brand new Italian-themed delicatessen.

A cultural experience

Join the locals at the buzzing Auckland Night Markets, held at eight different locations across the region on different nights, for traditional street snacks and delicacies from around the world. Get a taste of authentic Māori, Pacific, Asian and Indian food, clothing and art at the Otara Flea Market on Saturdays from 6am to 12pm.
