Screen Auckland is the regional film office (RFO) for Auckland, based within Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, the economic and cultural agency for Auckland.
The screen sector makes a significant contribution to our region, and Screen Auckland supports this through screen production attraction, sector advocacy and facilitation.

Screen Auckland aims to ensure filming across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is managed with consideration for our communities and local environments for a positive experience.
This means filming remains feasible for future productions and encourages a culture of collective responsibility for the Auckland screen industry’s success, for the production sector and stakeholders alike.

Matt joined Screen Auckland in 2022. He has worked across a range of film sector roles, including strategic development, screen investment funding and production development. Matt's favourite local film is Sleeping Dogs.

Screen Auckland’s Attraction Specialist works alongside the Screen Auckland Manager and sector partners from New Zealand Film Commission and the Regional Film Offices of New Zealand to showcase Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland as a pre-eminent filming destination for international productions.
Kirsty provides the vision and energy that attracts international and domestic productions to Auckland to film, along with a wealth of local knowledge and connections. Kirsty’s favourite local film is The Dark Horse.
Screen Auckland works locally and nationally with industry and governing body partners to support the sustainable growth of the screen sector, including input on policy and processes. The Auckland Screen Taskforce will provide communication with industry and stakeholders and highlight the importance of the screen sector to Auckland’s cultural and economic landscapes.
Marie provides strategic guidance on policy development and advice to Screen Auckland partners, including the Sites and Places of Significance to Mana Whenua kaupapa.
As the engine room of Screen Auckland, our Facilitation Team generate permits for filming on public open spaces. Advocating for the industry, the team works closely with operational and decision-making teams within Auckland Council groups on location feasibility and processing of permits.
Hayley has significant experience as a script supervisor in the film and television industry domestically and abroad. She provides leadership and guidance to the facilitation team. Her favourite New Zealand film is Rain.
Jess specialises in engagement across our stakeholders, workstreams and reaching out to the industry. She travels a lot and her favourite New Zealand film is The Narnia Chronicles: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Fiona has a long history in festivals, live music and special events and her primary focus is the permit process. Her favourite New Zealand film is Eagle vs Shark.
Stacey specialises as a guide, to engage with mana whenua and to deepen the knowledge of te ao Māori at Screen Auckland. Her background is in production and location management here in Tāmaki and Australia. Her favourite New Zealand film is The Quiet Earth.

Karen has two decades of experience in retailing music and movies, managing many stores across Tāmaki Makaurau. Her primary focus is the permit process. Her favourite New Zealand film is Stickmen.
Karen Ngawhika, Film Facilitator
Julie has a diploma in Screen Production from South Seas Film and Television School, with specialist skills in documentary and research, and experience in hospitality and retail management. Her focus now is primarily the permit process. Her favourite New Zealand film is We Are Still Here.
